I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
