Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
